Kindness advent calendar

24 helping tasks and kind deeds for December 1 to 24, from our kindness calendar guide: one page per age group with a picture on every card, swap cards for busy days and blank cards for your own ideas.

3 pages: ages 3–5, 6–8 and 9–12

How to use the charts

  • Put the chart where the routine happens, like the bathroom door or next to the bed, at your child's eye level.
  • Point at the chart instead of calling out each step. Asking “What's next on your chart?” hands the remembering to your child.
  • Start small: two or three tasks on the reward chart, and a first reward your child can reach in two or three days.
  • Praise the specific thing right away, and never take a sticker away. Earned is earned.
  • When a step has run smoothly for two or three weeks, take it off the chart and keep noticing it out loud.

Try it with your family
